So many people have asked us where we got the super soft and durable slip leashes we use when walking our Two Dog dogs that we decided to start carrying SoftLine products in our store. These six-foot leads are made from 5/8-inch, specially braided rope that is a pleasure to hold and can be slipped easily on and off your dog.

We currently recommend the front-connection SENSE-ible Harness from Softouch Concepts. If you have a dog who pulls on leash, you will love this harness! Harry and Mitchell both wear SENSE-ible Harnesses when walking around downtown Portland, Bar Harbor, and other populated places with leash laws. This front-connection harness transformed Harry from a compulsive puller to a well-mannnered heeler in minutes.

Because we’re based in a state where moose-crossing signs are common, school mascots are often bears, and squirrels lurk in every tree, we had to have these dog toys from the West Paw Design Wilderness Collection. Our stuffed animal connoisseurs, Maynard and Harry, served as the product testers and they were captivated by the soft, wooly texture of the Berber fabric and pleased that the squeakers kept squeaking even after several hours of hard play. They also liked the size and shapes of the toys, which fit nicely in their mouths and survived some pretty intense Labrador tug-of-war. We liked that these are high-quality toys made of durable, non-toxic materials in attractive earth tones. (FYI, at 5 years old, our Mitchell is still playing with Berber toys originally tested by Maynard more than a year before he was born!)
